There are 25 intarsia patterns in the book. They can be knit into 25 different knitting projects, from sweaters, hats and scarves to afghans, a pillow and even a Christmas stocking. The book also has the story of these breeds, including their history, all the ways they have worked down through the years and what activities they take part in now. The book is illustrated with more than 70 photographs. Author Biography

Peggy Gaffney rules the world of Picture Knitting with her wonderful collection of intarsia knitting books for lovers of pets. Her Crafty Dog Knits Series books each took one breed and studied all the things that made them unique. On top of this information, were wonderful charted knitting designs showing these dogs in action and finally a collection of patterns for sweaters, hats, scarves, pillows, afghans, etc. into which these picture designs could be knit. When cat breeders approached the author she did the same for them with The Crafty Cat Knits. This attracted the attention of breeders of llamas and alpacas for which she then created a similar book. 2012 brought a turn toward multibreed books with the publication of Knit a Kitten Purl a Puppy showing adorable designs worked into patterns of clothing and accessories for children. Peggy Gaffney's books are published by Kanine Knits. Peggy is regularly found as a speaker to groups of knitters or authors and has appeared numerous times on television and radio. For many years a member of the board of Connecticut Authors and Publishers Association, she is active in educating authors in international marketing online. Her books are sold around the world and a enjoyed by knitters and pet lovers everywhere.
